Mandi, February 8

To improve health services in Zonal Hospital, Mandi, the state government has appointed five doctors for the purpose. It will help the hospital to restart OPDs of ENT and skin, which had been closed for the past few months as the medical staff was shifted to Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College at Ner Chowk.

The Zonal Hospital is facing acute shortage of doctors, where out of total 45 posts of doctors only 16 were available at present. Now, with the appointment of five doctors, the total number of doctors will increase to 21 against sanctioned 45 posts.

The government has appointed radiologist, ENT, medicine, skin and surgeon specialists from Solan, Bilaspur, Una, Palampur and Jogindernagar and asked them to join immediately.
