Manager held as club fails to observe timings

The manager of Kind Cross Club at Hotel Altius, Industrial Area, Phase-II, was arrested on Sunday for playing music beyond the permissible time limit.

According to the police, officials on night duty found the club open after permissible hours.

The police said it was a violation of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) orders issued under Section 144 of the CrPC.

A case under Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the club manager, Jatin Virk, at the Sector 31 police station. Virk was later released on bail.

Police officials said a close watch was being kept on night clubs in Sectors 9, 7, 26 and other parts of the city to ensure clubs were closed after the permissible time. The police had also booked one of the owners of a night club, Pipe and Barrel, in Sector 9 for keeping the club open beyond permissible hours on Sunday.
