Man reunited with family after 6 years

SHIMLA: A 36-year-old man, Hari (name changed), who was admitted at the Himachal Hospital of Mental Health and Rehabilitation, Boileauganj, for the last two years, was on Tuesday reunited with his family after six years.

A 36-year-old man, Hari (name changed), who was admitted at the Himachal Hospital of Mental Health and Rehabilitation, Boileauganj, for the last two years, was on Tuesday reunited with his family after six years.

Hari’s nephew along with an ASI and a constable came here from Telangana to take him back. Hari was admitted to the hospital in April 2017 following the orders of the Civil Judge(Junior Division)-cum JMIC Nahan, Sirmaur district. He was given anti-psychotic drugs and his condition started improving. Gradually, he started communicating in different languages. During the mental status examination, he revealed that he belongs to Mahboob Nagar. Doctors at the hospital looked for the place on the Internet and it was found that he belongs to Telangana. Hospital head Dr Sanjay Pathak said they sought the help of the police and his family was located and contacted. The family also spoke to the patient through video chats and informed them that he had been missing for the last six years and they had presumed him dead.
