Man jumps off court building, dies

GURDASPUR: A man allegedly jumped to death from the third floor of the judicial complex here this afternoon. Sukhdev Singh (32) was arrested yesterday by the Gurdaspur police on the charges of supplying narcotics.

A man allegedly jumped to death from the third floor of the judicial complex here this afternoon.

Sukhdev Singh (32) was arrested yesterday by the Gurdaspur police on the charges of supplying narcotics. Accompanied by three policemen, he was being produced in the court today when suddenly he ran and scaled a wall before jumping.

A case had been registered against him under the NDPS Act at Kalanaur police station.

Swarandeep Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said doctors at the civil hospital declared him brought dead. He said a probe had been initiated into the sequence of events leading to the incident.
