Man held for trespassing into house of DGP’s son

The police nabbed Gaurav, a waiter of Sutlej Club, for trespassing into the house of Siddhant Chattopadhyaya, son of DGP (PSPCL) Siddharth Chattopadhyaya. He was arrested on Thursday and remanded in judicial custody. He was booked under Section 456 of the IPC.

Siddhant, an advocate who lives in a government accommodation in the Old City Control Room, said on October 15, when he and his mother arrived home at 8:30 pm, a person was seen hiding behind an AC. When he asked the person to come out, he pushed him and fled. He identified the intruder as Gaurav, a waiter at the Galaxy restaurant of Sutlej Club. Siddhant is a frequent visitor to the club. The police said the accused’s motive was not yet known. The accused told the police he had entered the house by mistake. — TNS
