Man held for abducting, raping minor

NURPUR: The Indora police on Tuesday arrested a resident of Nalagarh in Solan district from Ropar in Punjab for allegedly abducting a minor and raping her.

The Indora police on Tuesday arrested a resident of Nalagarh in Solan district from Ropar in Punjab for allegedly abducting a minor and raping her.

According to information, the girl was abducted in February 2015 when she was alone at her home.

The girl’s father had lodged a complaint in this regard and an FIR was registered under Sections 363 and 366 of the IPC. Although the accused was traced by the police in April this year, he managed to escape leaving behind the girl and and the baby.

The police brought the victim and her baby back. After a medical examination of the girl, the police added Section 376 of the IPC and relevant sections of the POCSO Act in the FIR.

DSP, Nurpur, Sahil Arora said the accused was produced in a local court, which sent him to police remand.
