The court of Additional and Sessions Judge, Karuna Sharma, has sentenced an accused of raping a minor girl to 20 years of imprisonment.
A penalty of Rs 25,000 has also been imposed on the convict, Shahrukh, a resident of Ransika village of the district. The accused was convicted under Section 376 (3) of the IPC and Section 4 of the POCSO Act on Thursday. The convict will have to serve an additional sentence of two months if he fails to pay the penalty, ordered the special court. — TNS
