Amritsar, April 14

State BJP chief Shwait Malik has accused Capt Amarinder Singh of “humiliating” the martyrs by abstaining from the national memorial event to commemorate the centenary of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre held here yesterday.

Addressing mediapersons here today, he said: “The CM did not take part in the official ceremony held in the presence of Vice President Venkaiah Naidu late afternoon yesterday.” “Over the years it had almost become a convention to hold the commemorative ceremony for the martyrs in the afternoon.” He said, however, the CM took part in the event held under Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Saturday morning. — TNS
