Man shot in wedding procession, gets back after surgery

In South Delhi's Madangir area, a person, who was getting married, was shot down. The incident was reported on Monday night when Badal (25) was escorted in his marriage procession from Khanpur to Madangir, said police.

While he was seated on a horseback, two unidentified person shot him and fled away just 500-meters ahead of the marriage hall, police said.

The bullet hit the shoulder of the bridegroom while all his friends and relatives were busy dancing and nobody took notice. Badal somehow got down of his horse and explained people that he has been shot by someone. After which he was taken to the Batra Hospital, they said.

The bullet which pierced his shoulder was taken out after three hours of operation, police said.

Interestingly, after the operation was over, Badal showing his courage reached back to his marriage ceremony. Badal's family wonders as to who would have tried to kill him on the day of the marriage.

Police has registered an FIR in the case and started the investigation. CCTV footage of the whole area has been scanned to identify the accused involved in shooting Badal, the police added.
