Barely a week after the brave personnel of CRPF were decorated with 75 Gallantry medals by the Union Government, including one Kirti Chakra and two Shaurya Chakras, FICCI- honoured the CRPF, this time for its smart initiatives.

The CRPF was awarded with three prestigious distinctions by FICCI at a function on Homeland Security 2019 in New Delhi on Friday.

The CRPF was adjudged the best in three distinct spheres of ‘smart’ initiatives. The CRPF Institute of IED Management, Pune, the CRPF’s humanitarian initiative in Jammu and Kashmir under the programme MADADGAR and its humane Civic Action Programmes in Naxal-affected Chhatisgarh were accorded remarkable recognition by FICCI Smart Policing Awards 2019.

The awards were given away by Dr Jitendra Singh, MoS, PMO, Government of India at a function in New Delhi.

One of the awardees the IIM, CRPF, Pune, has been spearheading a movement of sorts among the police personnel of the country to help them detect and dispose improvised explosives devices (IED) and save precious human lives and property.
