MP Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, president, Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali), has called the anti-Congress and anti-SAD (Badal) parties to unite in the interest of the state. While addressing workers of his group in native Brahmpura village, 30 km from here, on Wednesday, he honoured the workers who contested the recently-concluded panchayat elections.
Brahampura called upon them to remain active in the political arena to take part in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Brahampura condemned the Congress as well as the SAD (Badal), terming their policies “anti-Sikh”.
“The Congress attacked Akal Takht Sahib and the Badals used the Panth for their personal interests,” he said. He condemned the state government for its alleged repressive attitude in the panchayat elections by rejecting the nomination papers of opponents. Former MLA Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, too, spoke on the occasion.
