Kharar, August 12
Kharar MLA Kanwar Sandhu today visited New Sunny Enclave in Sector 123 and discussed the problems faced by residents.
He met members of the New Sunny Enclave Residents Welfare Association. In a memorandum submitted to Sandhu, the residents alleged that basic amenities, including electricity, water supply, sewerage and roads were in very bad shape in the sector. They said no electricity sub-station has been set up and as a result the residents do not get regular electricity supply.
They said temporary connections provided from street lights were unable to bear load of electronic appliances, including air-conditioners and microwaves, among others. The residents alleged that non-payment of electricity bills by a builder has led to disconnection of electricity supply. They alleged that no water storage tank has been set up and rued lack of sewage treatment plant (STP) for disposal of sewage. — OC
