Shifting into a new home, whether your own or a rented accommodation, marks the beginning of a new  journey. Many people are not forthcoming when it comes to making drastic changes in accordance with Vaastu principles, but there are certain broad and easy-to-follow tips that can keep the Vaastu balance of your new abode in place:

1 Directions play a pivotal role in balancing relationships. If the master bedroom is in the southwest direction, it is supposed to bring in positive vibes and happiness.

2 Vaastu Shastra suggests non-placement of a mirror in the bedroom. However, one can keep the same in the dressing area.

3 Incorporation of colours is important in life and the use of bright shades like yellow, blue, white or orange in living areas will make the atmosphere happy and positive.

Try not to take old brooms and mops while shifting to a new home as these are supposed to bring negative energy with them.

5 The entry of a rented home should face northeast, northwest, east, north or west. Rental properties that face south, southeast or southwest directions are best avoided.

6 Southeast and northwest are the best directions to set up a kitchen and a kitchen in northeast is not believed to be beneficial as per Vaastu.

7 The rented home should be on a a square or a rectangle plot and must not be on a deadend or crossroad with a cutting edge.

8 Avoid a rental home with the balcony or an open area in the southwest direction.

Vaastu Shastra is an architectural science that helps in setting broad parameters to ensure success and happiness of those living in a structure.
