A lawyer has been booked for raping a woman, who also gave birth to a child.

In her complaint to the police, the victim stated that the accused allegedly raped her at her house following which she got pregnant. She narrated the incident to her parents, who then called the accused. The lawyer then stated that he would marry the victim. So, the police were not approached.

The police said the accused developed physical relations with the victim on the pretext of marriage, who also gave birth to a child.

When the victim’s parents asked the accused to get married, he claimed that he was going abroad to earn livelihood. The accused didn’t marry her.

Later, the victim learnt that the accused was an advocate. She approached him but he threatened her.

The victim then lodged a complaint with the police. Following an investigation, a case under Section 376 (2) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against the accused at the Sector 39 police station.

The police said they would arrest the accused after establishing scientific evidence.
