Senior SAD leader Dyal Singh Kolianwali, who is presently in judicial custody at the Nabha jail in a disproportionate assets case registered by the state Vigilance Bureau, is reportedly unwell for the last few days. He has even sought permission from the court to undergo a surgery.
Sources in the vigilance informed today that Kolianwali was suffering from piles. “He has sought permission from the court for his treatment at a private hospital. He is suffering from piles. Before his arrest too, he was suffering from this problem, which has now again developed,” said sources.
Kolianwali, a sitting SGPC member, who remained on several positions in the SAD-BJP government, had surrendered at a Mohali court on December 14.
As per the FIR, Kolianwali’s expenditure was 71 per cent higher than his income from 2009 to 2014. He has shown total income of Rs 2.39 crore, however, he allegedly spent Rs 4.1 crore on movable and immovable properties, the FIR said.
Meanwhile, speaking over the phone, Parminder Singh, Kolianwali’s son, said, “My father is suffering from piles, some problem in prostate and a cyst in his back. He has to undergo surgery, thus we have sought permission from the court for his treatment. In the past too, he has undergone treatment for prostate from a private hospital in Ludhiana.”
