The Chandigarh Member Parliament (MP), Kirron Kher, laid foundation stone for construction of concrete roads at Tribune Colony, Sector 29, in presence of Mayor Rajesh Kumar, area councillor Shakti Parkash Devshali and other residents here today.
She said it was a long-pending demand of Tribune employees to construct road in the colony. The road-construction work at Tribune Colony will be completed within four months at a cost of Rs 45.05 lakh to be sanctioned from the MPLAD funds.
Earlier, Kher inaugurated the Community Centre in Sector 43. Mayor Rajesh Kumar said, “Chandigarh has best Community Centres that cater to a variety of community activities.”
The differences within the BJP again came to fore during the inauguration of Sector 43 Community Centre when supporters of party president Sanjay Tandon started raising slogans in his favour. This again annoyed Kirron Kher, who announced from the dais that she would become Chandigarh MP again in the next election. Earlier, when Tandon’s supporters raised slogans in his favour during the Mayoral elections Kirron had asked him to stop them from doing so.
