Jind, January 20

Within a week of raising a banner of revolt against the BJP, Kandela khap chief Tek Ram Kandela on Sunday announced his decision to sink his differences with the party.

In the presence of state BJP president Subhash Barala, Kandela said he and his supporters would canvass for the BJP candidate.

He clarified that the decision to support the BJP was an individual one as party member and not as head of the khap. He said his supporters had shown displeasure over the party’s decision not to field him in the Jind byelection.

“My annoyance ended after Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Barala talked to my supporters. We are geared to work for party candidate Krishan Middha,” he said.
