Amritsar, February 11

The Khalra Mission Organisation on Monday sought the intervention of Punjab and Haryana High Court chief justice into the conviction of three Sikh youths. A Nawanshahr court has awarded life imprisonment to three Sikh youths on charges of waging war against the state.

The Panj Piaras (five beloved ones), who were expelled by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, had also appealed to various Sikh organisations to come in the support of these youths.

The Panj Piaras said that the police did not find any weapon from the possession of Arwinder Singh, Surjit Singh and Ranjit Singh, who were having some pictures of ‘martyred’ Sikhs. — TNS
