Severe cold wave conditions continued to sweep the state with several places in the higher reaches receiving fresh snowfall during the last 24 hours.

Keylong recorded the lowest temperature at minus 9.8 degrees Celsius while Kalpa recorded five degrees. There has been no appreciable change in the minimum and the maximum temperatures, though the day temperatures increased by one to 2 degrees.

According to the local Meteorological centre, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect western Himalayan region from January 15. Isolated places in the middle and the high hills could receive rain and snow. Shimla recorded a minimum temperature of 2.7 degrees, Kufri minus 1.1 degrees, Manali 1 degrees, Solan 3 degree, Palampur 5 degree, Mandi 0.3 degree, Bilaspur 5.6 degrees, Hamirpur 6.2 degree, Chamba 5.5 degree, Dalhousie 0.6 degrees, Nahan 4.7 degrees and Sundernagar 3.9 degrees. Una was the warmest as it recorded a maximum temperature of 20.2 degrees, followed by Hamirpur 19.2 degrees and Bilaspur 19 degree. Shimla recorded a maximum of 12. 7 degree. — TNS
