Kaypee refuses to relent, Chaudhary set to file papers

JALANDHAR: Even as former Jalandhar MP Mohinder Singh Kaypee has been relentlessly pursuing his case for review of ticket to sitting MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh for the Jalandhar LS seat, the latter today announced that he would file his nomination papers on April 22 in the presence of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.

Even as former Jalandhar MP Mohinder Singh Kaypee has been relentlessly pursuing his case for review of ticket to sitting MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh for the Jalandhar LS seat, the latter today announced that he would file his nomination papers on April 22 in the presence of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh. April 22 is the first day of filing papers for the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab slated for May 19.

Getting himself clicked with the MLAs and halqa in charge of all nine Assembly seats here today, Chaudhary Santokh Singh issued a release saying, “The CM’s office has informed me that he will especially come to accompany me to file my nomination papers on April 22. All MLAs of Jalandhar and senior party leaders will join me at the occasion.”

A meeting to discuss the political strategy and strengthen the poll campaign with all MLAs and those leaders who contested the 2017 Assembly polls was held at his place today.

Meanwhile, Kaypee said he was still in Delhi trying to meet the high command and senior AICC leaders with his demand to review the ticket, but all were busy in UP polls.
