Chandigarh, January 17

Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh took on Union Minister Vijay Sampla for allegedly trying to scuttle the dreams of the Sikh community by complicating the process of travel and “darshan” at the Kartarpur Gurdwara.

Instead of finding ways of facilitating the Sikh pilgrims, the Central government, especially responsible elected representatives such as Sampla, was constantly putting hurdles in the way of the realisation of their dream to visit the gurdwara, said Capt Amarinder.

The statement of Sampla rejecting the possibility of passport waiver and making visa mandatory for poor and illiterate pilgrims crossing the Kartarpur corridor had once again shown that neither the BJP nor its ally SAD were interested in facilitating the devotees by making travel hassle-free, alleged the CM. — TNS
