Karnal gets ODF plus status

Adding another feather to its cap, the Karnal city today got the open defecation free plus (ODF plus) status from the Ministry of Urban Local Bodies. Earlier, it had been given the status of the ODF last year, which was later recertified.

With this tag, the authorities are elated and hopeful that it would help them in achieving the top rank in the country in Swachh Survekshan 2019.

Earlier, Karnal had secured the first place in Haryana and 41st in India in Swachh Survekshan-2018 and had received special award for being the cleanest city in North India under the category of population two to 10 lakh in the Swachh Survekshan 2017 and also secured the 65th rank in the country.
