Lucknow, November 11

Describing the Ayodhya verdict as “just”, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh on Monday said the verdict had fulfilled his cherished dream for a grand temple in Ayodhya.

Singh, a prominent face of the Ayodhya movement and an accused in the criminal conspiracy case for demolishing the Babri Masjid, said there would not have been a better judgment as according to him it had satisfied every section as not a single voice had been raised against it.

“Everyone has welcomed and accepted the SC decision which is just and legal and all inclusive. It has put an end to a 500-year-old dispute,” he claimed. “Now it is the job of the government to form a trust and start the construction of the Ram temple,” he said.

Incidentally, Kalyan Singh was the Chief Minister of UP when the Babri Masjid was demolished on December 6, 1992. — TNS
