New Delhi, August 9

The swearing-in ceremony of Justice Rajendra Menon as Chief Justice of High Court of Delhi at the Raj Niwas today saw some cordial sights, including exchange of greetings between Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta.

Kejriwal is learnt to have courteously invited Gupta for lunch or dinner at his place to which the latter reciprocated positively.

In a visibly relaxed atmosphere, LG Anil Baijal too shared some good moments with the Chief Minister who in turn is understood to have been escorted by none other than Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash.

The gesture be it inspired by protocol or some other reason is appreciable keeping in mind the rough relations shared between the two following Prakash’s allegation of being assaulted by some ruling party lawmakers at the Chief Minister’s residence in February.

Meanwhile, Baijal administered the oath of office to Justice Menon at the event which was also attended by Kejriwal’s cabinet colleagues, senior members of the judiciary and officers of the Delhi government, among others.
