Minerva beat RBI by 66 runs

Minerva Cricket Academy registered a 66-run win over RBI Mumbai on the third day of the ongoing JP Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament, at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula on Saturday.    

Opting to bat, Minerva scored 203/7 after the match was reduced to 30 overs a side due to wet outfield.  

Minerva innings was sustained by Ravi Inder Singh’s 58-ball 67.  Gaurav Puri hit 33 off 28 while Himanshu Satyawan hammered a 28-ball 50 to propel the side to a challenging total.

Amit Mishra (2/26), Kiran Kashyap  (2/23) and Jaya Chhaya (2/68) claimed two wickets apiece for the bankers.

Needing to score 6.80 runs per over for victory, RBI lost their last six wickets for the addition of just 34 runs and were bowled out for 137 runs in 24 overs. Pranay Sharma struck 43 off 38 balls. 

Leg-spinner Sarabjeet Ladda was the most effective bowler for Minerva, claiming  3/36. Left-arm spinner Vinay Chaudhary (2/21) and Yadwinder (2/24 ) took two wickets each.

FCI beat Mahadev Sports 

At Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 26, FCI Delhi beat Mahadev Sports Management by six wickets.  

Mahadev Sports’ decision to bat first boomeranged as they were reduced to 3/3 inside the third over. Nehal Wadhera, Kanwarjeet Singh and Dipansh Buchar returned to pavilion without opening their accounts. 

Abhijeet Garg made a patient 57 before the side was eventually folded up on 119 runs.  Medium pacer Rajinder Bisht  was the wrecker-in-chief for FCI Delhi, picking up 4/27. Left-arm spinner Manish Seharawat bagged 3/14.

In reply, FCI reached home in 20.5 overs with six wickets to spare. Ayush Bhardwaj made 31 off 24 balls, while Manish (junior) hammered a 20-ball 31.  

Amrit Sandhu  (1/21), Paras  (1/36) and Wadhera  (1/ 6) bagged a wicket each for Mahadev Sports.
