Two jail inmates have been booked after a mobile phone and opium were recovered from them.

On June 14, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-DLSA Secretary Kavita Kamboj and the jail staff had inspected room number 2 of the Block-2 of the Kurukshetra jail. During the inspection, a mobile phone was recovered from Bhupinder Singh while two packets of opium were recovered from Yashpal. They are lodged in the jail in a murder case.

On the directions of the CJM, a case has been registered against them under Section 42-A of the Prisons Act and Section 15 of the NDPS Act at the Thanesar city police station. — TNS
