Jail inmate injured in clash, fellow booked

AMRITSAR: An inmate at the Central Jail was seriously injured in a clash with a fellow prisoner here on Thursday.

An inmate at the Central Jail was seriously injured in a clash with a fellow prisoner here on Thursday. The victim has been identified as Karanbir Singh and the attacker as Mohit Kumar of Sultanwind Road.

Central Jail Assistant Superintendent Ranjit Singh said the accused engaged in a bloody clash with a prisoner, Karanbir Singh, and injured him badly. Later, prisoner Karanbir Singh was referred to the Civil Hospital by the doctor in the jail.

The accused has been booked under Section 52 of the Prisons Act at the Islamabad police station. The police are investigating the case.
