Ludhiana, January 21

Jagjit Singh from Sangrur was adjudged ‘Champion of Champions’ in the Bodybuilding Championship held at Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan here on Sunday.

Around 400 participants (men and women) drawn from different parts of the country vied for top honours in different categories in this competition, organized by the Punjabi Bodybuilding and Sports Welfare Committee. Jagjit Singh along with other winners in different categories were given cash prizes worth Rs1 lakh besides motorbikes.

Punjabi singer, Inderjit Nikku inaugurated the event, while MLA Surinder Dawar distributed the prizes. Senior Congress leader, Kulwant Singh Sidhu, Daronacharya award winner, Bhupinder Dhawan and Mr. Olympia-2018 winner Mukesh Singh Gehlot were guests of honour on this occasion.

Gurvinder Dosanjh and Pardeep Kumar Appu, chairman and president, respectively of the organizing committee said that the aim to hold this championship was to encourage the youth towards games which helped an overall development of a person.
