Mohali, December 9

After the withdrawal of the Bangkok flight from the city, the flight operations to Dubai will also soon be suspended temporarily. The IndiGo flight, connecting Chandigarh and Dubai, will be withdrawn for two months from December 15 to February 15. Inadequate landing arrangements during bad weather are being cited as the reason.

Air India, which has a flight connecting Chandigarh and Sharjah, is also reportedly mulling withdrawing its international operations from here for some time. A senior official of the airline said they had written to the higher authorities seeking temporary withdrawal of the city-Sharjah flight or a change its timings. Air India had earlier withdrawn its Chandigarh-Bangkok flight.

Deepesh Joshi, a spokesperson for Chandigarh International Airport Ltd, said “The Chandigarh-Dubai flight will resume from February 16.” — TNS
