Vir Das has become the first Indian comedian to bag a Netflix special, an honour only some of the world’s biggest comedians have had so far bagged, including the likes of Kevin Hart, Amy Schumer and Chris Rock. His show titled Losing It is a take on several topics, including politics and feminism.

Shares Vir Das, “After the first special, I didn’t feel great about it. I felt it was good, but soon after, comedians like Dave Chappele and Hannah Gadsby came out with their special, and reached out to many people because they stood for something deeper. I wanted that too. So, I spent more time researching. I may not be the right person to speak on it, so I wanted to meet people who could talk about feminism. I never believed in using a topic just to bring a certain reaction. Topics like feminism and politics have to come from a deep level of awareness.”
