New Dehli, August 22

In a hardening of stance, Pakistan PM Imran Khan has ruled out any more overtures to India for a dialogue even as five UN rapporteurs described the blackout in Kashmir as “a form of collective punishment to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, without even the pretext of a precipitating offence”.

The Pakistan PM told the New York Times that “there is no point in talking to them (India). Unfortunately, all the overtures that I was making for peace and dialogue, I think they took it for appeasement. There is nothing more we can do.”

Two days after PM Modi and Khan spoke with US President Donald Trump, Khan raised the spectre of a nuclear exchange, which was rejected by the Indian envoy .— TNS
