IAF rescues 2 Delhi trekkers

SHIMLA: The IAF on Friday rescued two women trekkers stranded in the high-altitude Dhanresh region at the Dodra Kuar-Rupin Pass.

SHIMLA: The IAF on Friday rescued two women trekkers stranded  in the high-altitude Dhanresh region at the Dodra Kuar-Rupin Pass. 

The trekkers have been identified as   Sudha Bhattacharyajee (wife of an Army  officer) and Dr Supriya, both  from Delhi. 

The IAF chopper airlifted them from the snow-covered Dhanresh area  to Annandale in Shimla,  SDM, Dodra Kuar, Rati Ram said. According to the rescue team,  Sudha  had suffered a knee injury, while Dr Supriya was gripped by hypothermia while crossing a water stream near the Dandrash-Thach area on Thursday. 

They got in touch with the Army and the district administration through a satellite phone  and sought help. TNS
