Panchkula, February 6

The Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has issued final notice to two hotels in Sector 10 here to demolish unauthorised construction on their roofs.

The notices have been pasted on the main gates of the two hotels, KC Crossroads and Prabhat Inn. The HSVP has directed their owners to submit their reply by Tuesday next.

Estate Officer Ashutosh Rajan said the two hotels had failed to remove the illegal construction or submit their reply to the notice issued earlier.

The department had earlier served notice on seven hotels in the city, namely Western Court, Escape Bar and Restaurant in Sector 5, Gopal Sweets and Indian Chat House besides the two hotels in Sector 10. Rajan said the managements of five hotels had submitted their replies and sought a month’s time to remove the illegal constructions. He said since the two hotels in Sector 10 failed to reply to the notice, fresh notices were pasted on their main gates.

Rajan said if the hotels still failed to submit their replies by February 12, resumption notices would be issued to them. He said notices were also being used to the owners of houses for using the basement for office use or to run a diagnostic centre. The Estate Officer said they have also launched a drive to demolish the illegal construction done by various schools in the city.
