HP, Punjab cops raid village to hunt drug peddlers

NURPUR: To mount pressure on drug peddlers at Bhadroya in Nurpur, infamous for drug peddling, the state and Punjab Police conducted a joint search operation late last evening.

To mount pressure on drug peddlers at Bhadroya in Nurpur, infamous for drug peddling, the state and Punjab Police conducted a joint search operation late last evening. On seeing police teams, members of the drug mafia fled the village.

The joint operation, conducted by DSP, Nurpur, Sahil Arora and DSP, Pathankot, Sukhjinder Singh lasted for four hours. The police searched houses of drug peddlers against whom cases had been registered. The police also searched vehicles, especially two-wheelers and cross-questioned their owners.

The state had withdrawn the police force deployed at Bhadroya to check the movement of drug peddlers. The locals have demanded to restore the deployment of police force.
