The braid of a housewife was chopped off at Jakhole village on Tuesday. It has triggered panic in surrounding villages.

The incident has surfaced almost two years after when there was a spree of braid-chopping incidents reported from Jammu and Kashmir.

“I was running fever so I took my meal and slept. After some time, My head began to itch so I got up. My children also got up and told me that my braid had been chopped off,” narrated Nisha, a 33-year-old housewife of Jakhole village.

The children said their mother fainted after knowing that her hair were cut. The family members immediately shifted her to Associate Hospital Government Medical College, Kathua. Doctors after examining her put her under observation.
