The Congress on Thursday dwelled into Panthic politics by moving and passing a resolution to commemorate martyr Lachhman Singh Dharowali, who had fought for freeing Nankana Sahib Gurudwara from the control of mahants 99 years ago. Party leaders Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Brahm Mohindra moved the resolution, while condemning the SAD for "ignoring" the life and heroism of Dharowali all these years. They said the Akalis raised many memorials and have claimed themselves to be the champions of Sikh sacrifice and issues, but they never saluted the martyr. AAP MLA HS Phoolka and LIP MLA Balwinder Bains supported the resolution and demanded the SGPC should also be freed from the control of the Akalis. Majority of Akali MLAs were not present in the House, Kuldip Singh Wadali supported the resolution.
