Honeypreet appears before court via video conferencing

The local court on Tuesday fixed October 15 as the next date of hearing in the Panchkula violence case in which Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s adopted daughter is an accused. The case pertains to violence that took place in the aftermath of Ram Rahim’s conviction in rape cases.

Honeypreet appeared before the court through video-conferencing, while other accused were present. On Monday, the public prosecutor stated that he would like to place on record a comparative table showing evidence against the accused. The remaining arguments couldn’t advance today.

Honeypreet is accused of triggering violence in Panchkula following Ram Rahim’s conviction in rape cases on August 25, 2017. She has been lodged in the Ambala Central jail since October 3, 2017.

A case was lodged against her on August 28, 2017, at Sector 5 police station under various sections of the IPC.
