The Grinch, based on the Dr. Seuss' holiday classic made vividly famous by the live action year 2000 version with Jim Carrey in the eponymous role, finds a newer restitution in this animated exigency meant to mark the Christmas spirit.

This version tells the story of a cynical grump who is on a mission to steal Christmas, only to have his heart changed by a young girl's generosity.

The infamous, solitary Grinch (Benedict Cumberbatch) lives in a cave on Mt. Crumpet with his loyal dog, Max, and several rigged up inventions for company. He exposes himself to the people of Whosville only when he runs out of food. Christmas is the time when The Whos make a production of their celebrations, disturbing Grinch in the bargain. This year the celebrations are much bigger, brighter, and louder and Grinch, as expected, is not amused. Pharrell Williams as the narrator, and Kenan Thompson as Bricklebaum (a new character who happens to be the Who of Whosville) living closest to the Grinch, are add-ons that brighten up this new essay that has a strong visual and emblematic appeal that will resound with all ages.

The animation is wonderfully appealing and the characters lively and heart-warming in this universal story about optimism and joy that permeates the season of good cheer. Each character here is lovingly crafted and distinguished by a unique texture that livens up the experience. The three-dimensional architecture of Whosville is enchanting and the realistic look of the food design makes your mouth salivate in temptation. This is a captivating entertainer designed to get you into the Christmas spirit right from the word go!
