Hit by car, 24-yr-old motorcyclist dies

A 24-year-old youth was killed after the motorcycle he was riding on was reportedly hit by a car near Kurli village here on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as Kundan Rai, a resident of Bihar.

According to information, the incident took place on Saturday night when the victim was heading towards Lalru. When he reached near Kurli village, a car also going in the same direction reportedly hit him. The car driver fled from the spot.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against an unidentified car driver under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and have started investigations.

The body of the deceased had been kept in a mortuary at the Civil Hospital, Dera Bassi, for post-mortem examination to be conducted tomorrow, said the police.
