12 students get jobs

Ludhiana: A placement drive was organised at the Gulzar group of Institutes. Around 300 students of all streams took part in it. After the initial screening and a personal interview, 12 students were selected by Infosys at a package of Rs 2.40 lakh. Executive director Gurkirat Singh and director Anoop Bansal said it was a proud moment that the students of the institute had been placed even before passing out the session.

Entrepreneurship Development Programme

A six-week-long Entrepreneurship Development Programme for aspiring entrepreneurs is successfully running at the Science and Technology Entrepreneurs’ Park, (STEP), GNDEC, Ludhiana, under the DST-NIMAT project. The participants are being introduced to the legal, financial, technical aspects of setting-up and running a new venture on their own. Executive director Nirmal Singh Grewal said everone had the talent to become a successful entrepreneur, but we need to give a direction to the youth of today so as to make them independent and create their own niche in the world of enterprises. Grewal further added that the EDP was to turn the young generation into job providers instead of the job seekers.

Placement drive

A successful placement drive conducted by HCL at the Science and Technology Entrepreneurs’ Park (STEP-GNDEC), Gill Road. The HCL Team led the aspirants through three-tier selection process comprising aptitude test, group discussion and personal interview. Faculty members of (STEP) GNDEC, including prof Puneet Singh (HoD) and Sunita Sharma (Registrar) under the able guidance of executive director Nirmal Singh Grewal put in great efforts to make the event successful.
