A public interest litigation (PIL) challenging the allotment of bungalows of former Uttar Pradesh chief ministers to MLAs and MLCs will come up for hearing before the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court on January 25.
The PIL filed by lawyer ML Yadav has sought court’s direction to overturn the allotment of bungalows to two MLAs and another to an MLC.
The palatial 6 Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg bungalow vacated by former CM Mayawati has since been allocated to Jaswant Nagar, Etawah, MLA Shivpal Singh Yadav as the office for his newly launched Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) office. The 4 Vikramditya Marg bungalow vacated by ex-CM Akhilesh Yadav has been allocated to independent MLA from Kunda in Pratapgarh Raghuraj Pratap Singh, alias Raja Bhaiyya, as the party office for his newly launched party. — TNS
