Governor Satya Pal Malik on Wednesday reviewed the security at a high-level meeting at Raj Bhawan here. He was given a sector-wise assessment of the prevailing security situation in the state, an official spokesman said.
While expressing concern over the killing of political activists by militants, the Governor said he would invite leaders of different political parties for a meeting on the issue.
Malik stressed the need to ensure safety of protected persons and advised security agencies to give due consideration to the genuine apprehensions of political activists working at the grass-roots level, the spokesman said.
The Governor said leaders of different parties and other organisations could raise their concerns with Security Headquarters of the J&K Police and due diligence of the threat perception would be carried out by the intelligence agencies before arriving at a decision on the provision of personal security.
