Two local residents allegedly stoned their friend to death following a brawl just 600m from the Sector 5 police station in the wee hours of Wednesday.

An FIR for murder has been registered. The police revealed that the 20-year-old victim, identified as Rahul, was allegedly involved in two murder cases.

According to the police, the incident happened around 2.30 am. One of the deceased’s friends, Monu, called up the police.

According to the complaint filed by the victim’s father Balraj Singh, a resident of Dayanand colony, his son Rahul, alias Madu Mal had gone to attend the birthday party of his friend Monu.

Monu told him that at the party, seven persons were present. It got over at 2.15 am. Rahul returned home with Nikhil alias Monty and Himanshu on their Scooty.

“They had some fight and took him nearby to resolve the issue. But they stoned him in the bushes. After that, Monu called me up,” said Balraj in his complaint.

“I reached the spot at 3 am and the police were already there. My son was murdered by Himanshu and Monty,” father of the victim told the police.

An FIR was registered against the duo under Sections 302 (murder), 34 (common intention) of the IPC at Sector 5 police station today.

In the preliminary investigation, it has come to the fore that accused and victim had a criminal background. The victim was involved in two murder cases registered at Sector 5 police station while the accused are involved in other crimes.
