Sultanpur Lodhi, November 5

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today said even as PM Narendra Modi would be aware of the Pakistan’s ulterior motive behind opening of Kartarpur corridor, he perhaps was not saying much on the issue as it was happening during his tenure.

On the sidelines of the starting of “sehaj path” at the government pandal here, the CM asked why the PM was claiming the opening of corridor to be his initiative even if there were terror issues linked to it.

“Even Dr Manmohan Singh had made an attempt. But now all of a sudden, Pakistan is even talking of establishing Guru Nanak Dev University... Pakistan’s political objectives are different,” he said.

“Pakistan is trying to seek sympathy of the Sikh community for the referendum 2020,” he said. — TNS
