Growth of IT sector exceptional: Expert

Hamirpur, March 29

The growth of IT sector in the country is exceptional. This was stated by Prof SB Raghavan, former scientific secretary to the Government of India, while addressing students of the Institute of Information Technology, Una, at the NIT auditorium here today.

He said to keep pace with the developing nations, young engineers had to set their targets well in advance. The country had set new landmarks in the field of technology and was looking forward to new scientists.

Prof S Selvakumar, Director, IIIT-Una, said the institute would start functioning from its campus in Chandpur in Una district from the coming session. He added that the building of the institute would be completed within three years.

As many as 49 students of the first batch were awarded BTech degrees today. —TNS
