Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said that the state government will develop a mechanism to track youths up to the age of 35 years to identify jobless among them and ensure a provision of employment for them.
“We will track youths who have passed Class XII or have attained the age of 18 years. A database of the youths in the 18 to 35 years age group will be prepared and it will be ascertained how many of them are employed and how many are engaged in their family businesses or professions. The jobless youths will be imparted training at skill development centres and the government will help them in getting jobs, according to their acumen and training,” Khattar said while addressing a mega employment fair organised on the campus of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) here today.
He said that the government would have a complete database of the youths between 18 and 35 years of age by the next academic session. “All youths having graduate or postgraduate degrees will either get jobs or employment under the Saksham Haryana project. It has already happened in 12 districts of the state and the remaining 10 districts will soon be covered,” he added.
The Chief Minister added that the government has ended the “favour” system and brought in “fair” selection for government jobs. He handed over appointment letters to five youths, who were recruited during the job fair.
He assured the gathering that the companies, which give jobs to unemployed youths in Haryana, would be granted subsidy for setting up industrial units in the state.
Khattar: No closure of unrecognised schools
A delegation of the Haryana Private School Sangh met the Chief Minister on Monday and requested him to reconsider the decision to close down unrecognised private schools. Sangh president Satyawan Kundu said that the Chief Minister assured them that the decision would not be implemented from the current session and he would hold a meeting with the officials concerned in this regard. He asked school owners to fulfil the criteria laid down for the grant of recognition. He also advised them to approach the Supreme Court to present their views.
