Govt school gets educational park

An educational park has come up at Government Elementary School, Nawakot. The park has been constructed at the cost of Rs 2.6 lakh.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Ravinder Singh said, “The park has been built with a grant of Rs 2.6 lakh under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. It has been constructed to attract students to the school. The aim is to uplift the infrastructure of the school. ”

Key elements of syllabus have been painted on walls of the park. Besides, numericals in English and Punjabi language, days, colours, fruits and vegetables have also been painted on walls.

School headmistress Simarpal said, “The changes under MGNREGA shall deter parents to send their wards to private schools and encourage them study in a government school.” Headmistress also thanked local authorities for creating an educational park in the school.
