Govt school clinch title in softball meet

LUDHIANA: Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Gill village, stamped its supremacy, clinching the title in the 22nd Junior Ludhiana District Softball Tournament held from April 20 to 22 at Government Smart Senior Secondary School, Punjab Agricultural University campus.

Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Gill village, stamped its supremacy, clinching the title in the 22nd Junior Ludhiana District Softball Tournament held from April 20 to 22 at Government Smart Senior Secondary School, Punjab Agricultural University campus.

Players proved their dominance throughout the tournament as they faced little challenge from their opponents and secured their berth in the last four stages.

In the semi-final, they blanked Government High School, Sherpur Kalan, 10-0 in which skipper Amanjot Kaur and Komalpreet Kaur contributed two runs, whereas Navdeep Kaur, Krishma, Anmolpreet Kaur, Jiya Verma and Paramjit Kaur accounted for one run each to complete the rout.

In the final too, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Gill village, came out triumphant against BCM Senior Secondary School, Focal Point, without being challenged.

They wrapped it up 8-0 with main contributions made by Amanjot Kaur and Krishma, chipping in with two runs each.

Navdeep Kaur, Tannu, Komal, Anmolpreet Kaur and Jiya scored one run each to complete the tally. — OC
