On a call given by the activists of the Pendu Mazdoor Union (PMU), activists today blocked the Jalandhar-Amritsar highway and protest at the main chowk of Kartarpur. The activists burnt the effigy of the Education Minister OP Soni and raised slogans.

Press secretary, PMU, Kashmir Singh Ghugshore said the government had still not provided uniforms to children in the biting winter chill. They said the state government had not provided books to children.

Tehsil president of the union Balvinder Kaur Dyalpur, secretary Balvir Singh Dhirpur, Jasvir Gora, among others, were present.
