Goods worth lakhs destroyed in fire

JALANDHAR: A fire broke out at a plastic factory, Prince Enterprises, in the Leather Complex of Sangal Sohal village late on Sunday night.

A fire broke out at a plastic factory, Prince Enterprises, in the Leather Complex of Sangal Sohal village late on Sunday night.

Though factory workers tried to extinguish the fire, but they failed to control it. The situation was alarming as more than 50 fire brigade vans came to the spot to douse the flames. Satish Kumar, a fire brigade official, said they had received the information from a local resident.

It took around 10 hours to completely control the fire that was reported to have broke out due to a short- circuit in the factory.

Rajinder Sharma, another fire Brigade official, said, the building was completely damaged and due to the presence of plastic, the fire spread fast. Goods worth lakhs of rupees was destroyed. — TNS
